My stay at Samurai Hostel Asakusa was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic, nestled near Senso-ji and convenient for transport. but the service and cleanliness left much to be desired this time. The vibe was still somewhat relaxing, but changes in staff friendliness really stood out.

Rooms
7.5
The capsule beds were comfortable and spacious enough for my luggage, which I appreciated. However, the overall cleanliness seemed a bit off this time, with dust accumulating in the corners.
Service
6.0
While the staff had previously been very helpful, this time I felt ignored, particularly by the male receptionist. The lack of an emergency number was concerning, especially when someone got locked out.
Location
9.0
The hostel's location was excellent, close to eateries, shops, and Senso-ji. Navigating the area was easy, and calling a taxi was convenient due to the quiet road in front.
Dining
8.5
There were kitchen facilities available, which is a great option for budget travelers. Access to vending machines and nearby konbini was a plus for meals.
Facilities
7.0
The modern bathrooms had good amenities, though some features were a bit frustrating, like the showers cutting off every 30 seconds. I also found the new small kitchen on the sixth floor a bit cramped.

Staying at Samurai Hostel Asakusa was a mixed experience for me. The location is fantastic, just a minute away from the bustling main street of Asakusa, and the price for a clean dormitory was very affordable. However, I found some aspects lacking, especially in terms of staff service and maintenance issues with the facilities.

Rooms
7.5
I stayed in a female dormitory, which had 3-storey bunk beds that were surprisingly spacious. There was a locker for valuables too, but I did notice some issues with cleanliness and sound insulation.
Service
5.0
While most of the staff were friendly, one particular Japanese male staff seemed unapproachable and struggled with English. This made it awkward for guests who needed help.
Location
9.0
The location of the hostel can't be beaten. It’s under a 3-minute walk to Asakusa Station, making it super convenient for exploring the area, especially the beautiful gates at night.
Dining
7.0
I didn't try any on-site dining options, but it’s great that the hostel provides basic amenities like towels and soap.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were a bit hit or miss. WiFi connection was slow and unreliable, and showers required constant button-pushing. Also, the cleanliness of the toilets left something to be desired.

I had a mostly great stay at Samurai Hostel Asakusa. The location was fantastic, super close to the metro and key sights like Sky Tree. The staff were really friendly and helpful, like when they stored my luggage all day after I checked out. However, it did get a bit noisy at night due to the capsules, and I faced an issue with unauthorized male visitors on my female-only floor, which made me uneasy.

Rooms
8.5
The capsule was cozy, and the futon was super comfortable for a good night's sleep. I just wished there was an extra handle near the ladder to make climbing in and out easier.
Service
9.0
The staff were really friendly and accommodating, especially when they helped with my luggage. They really added a personal touch to my stay.
Location
9.5
Samurai Hostel is in a perfect spot, just a short walk to Asakusa metro and tons of restaurants to explore. Plus, it's right by the beautiful Sky Tree.
Dining

I enjoyed the breakfast options available for a cheap price. It was a nice way to start my day before heading out to explore.
Facilities

The facilities were clean and well-kept, with a mini-kitchen and 24-hour laundry service. It’s convenient to grab snacks and drinks from the vending machines too.

My stay at Samurai Hostel Asakusa was fantastic! The location was great, just a short walk from the subway and near popular attractions like Nakamise Street. While it could be a bit crowded during the day, the peaceful nights were a nice contrast. Overall, the hostel provided clean facilities and comfortable sleeping areas, though I wished for a few more hangers. 🌟

Rooms

I booked an upper capsule bed in a female-only dormitory. The space was comfortable with my own locker right by my bed, plus a shelf for my things. The bedding was fresh and soft, and overall, I really enjoyed the dorm setup.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly helpful, and I appreciated being able to communicate in Japanese. They made me feel welcome and were always ready to assist.
Location
9.5
The hostel's location is ideal, situated on a quiet side street but still close to the bustling Nakamise area. It was easy to access the subway, which made exploring Tokyo a breeze.
Dining
8.5
While I didn't use the kitchen facilities, I found plenty of nearby eateries and convenience stores. The surrounding area was vibrant and full of excellent dining options.
Facilities
9.0
The facilities were very clean and well-maintained, from the common area to the showers and toilets. I appreciated the shoe locker at the entrance and the airiness of the space, though a small fan was helpful for the warmer nights.

Staying at Samurai Hostel Asakusa was a good experience. The spacious capsule beds and the prime location near Nakamise Shopping Street made exploring easy. However, navigating the narrow hallways and the occasional noise from our shopping bags was a minor inconvenience. Overall, it's a solid choice for those wanting to soak in the sights of Asakusa! 😊

Rooms

The capsule beds were surprisingly spacious and very comfortable, perfect for a restful night after a day of exploring. Each capsule came with a secure lock cabinet for my belongings, increasing my sense of safety.
Service

I appreciated the hotel’s rules about noise, especially the consideration shown by limiting the use of hair dryers late at night. It made for a more peaceful environment.
Location
8.0
The location is fantastic, just steps away from Sensoji Temple and conveniently close to Nakamise Shopping street—ideal for grabbing local snacks! However, it was a bit of a walk to the subway lines.
Dining

While I didn't dine out much, I loved the 24/7 happy hour with lower prices for coffee and beers. The kitchenette with a microwave and stove was a nice touch too!
Facilities

The facilities were excellent with many shared showers and even a tub available on the sixth floor. The spacious lobby offered great workspaces and a chill vibe.
